Summary
The Quality Inspector/Auditor III a senior level quality role. This individual will help guide level I and II Quality Inspector/Auditors and assist the Quality and Safety Manager with senior level tasks. This role will perform inspections while following standardized methods and procedures and will inspect and or check using multiple methods and instruments. They may even make recommendations about new methods or processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacturing of products
Inspect materials, parts, and products at different stages of production
Record observations and make recommendations for improving processes
Utilize basic computer software to communicate effectively with other teams and record findings
Write and edit work instructions, procedures, and produce quality reports for management
Lead quality audits and problem-solving process improvement efforts
Work cross-functionally with other teams like Project Management to ensure that questions and issues are resolved
Interact with members of other teams to resolve questions and issues either via in person communication, via phone, or via email
Read blueprints and use measuring tools (Caliper, Thread Gage, Scale, and Tape Measure)and CMM table
Lead in enforcing work instructions
Lead a problem solving group when needed
Perform root cause analysis
Communicate directly with Project Managers
Other duties may be assigned at any time
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required
5+ years of manufacturing work experience, 5 + years in quality required
Understanding of general aspects of role including blueprint reading
Basic knowledge of product structures and routings for inspections
Keen eye for detail and a team focused attitude
Proficiency in E Drawing
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and manufacturing software is required, with basic computer skills needed
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
