CNC Operator (Internally known as Machine Operator I)
Working Hours
1st shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:30am - 5:00pm
2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00 PM - 3:00am
Summary
The Machine Operator I will set up and operate the designated machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This role is responsible for being flexible in transferring between the responsibilities of Assembler I and the Machine Operator I role to support business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receive and follow basic written and oral instructions from supervisor and/or lead person
Set up designated type of machine and produce parts or blanks as specified on prints, e-drawings and solid models, job tickets, or instructions
Adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure equipment is ready for operation
Feed stock through the machines and check parts frequently to ensure correct size and quality is maintained
Maintain equipment and machinery to good order by properly storing tools in their designated storage area and by informing the supervisor of needed repairs or replacements
Follow established SOPs for equipment or machinery operation daily
Clean and lubricate equipment as required
Maintain machine inspection sheets as required to help ensure proper maintenance of the machinery is up-to-date
Responsible to have material flowing to and from the workstation to maintain production flow
Must be able to use all measure tools including tape measure, calipers, height gauges
Clearly communicate with team members and leaders of any areas of concern relating to production quality, or machine or equipment functionality problems immediately
Complete required paperwork and production reporting daily
Assist with general housekeeping tasks within work area to ensure it is neat, orderly and free from safety hazards
Assist with 5S projects as needed
Observe and enforce all shop and safety rules/regulations
Other duties may be assigned at any time
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred
0-1 year of experience in a production environment preferred
Willingness to learn new processes and procedures and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs
