Summary
The Receiving Coordinator will thrive in an environment that will require them to be detail-oriented multitaskers. They are essential to ensuring Harbor and our clients do business to the best of their abilities. They will be on the front lines communicating on a regular basis with outside trucking companies and vendors. This role will work without close supervision on a daily basis with a consistent ability to make reasonable and proper decisions regarding receiving priorities and other job related functions involving warehouse responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate shipments on a daily basis as required using the computerized system: accurate data entry necessary to complete duties for production as required
Utilize independent judgment and exercise decision making skills within the department
Contact trucking companies to coordinate shipments using the computer system, including being able to understand computerized numbers, locations and transaction
Keep records of goods that have been shipped/received and prepare regular shipping reports for supervisors as needed
While processing shipments, serving the warehouse and meeting outside truck drivers and other vendors, the employee is a representative of the company and to use judgment at all times regarding manner and behavior
Maintain packing lists and bills of lading as required on a daily basis
Manage internal warehouse transfers and trucking
Count and enter inbound items, enter into system accurately
Manages RA (Return Authorization) by working with Account Managers, Customers & Trucking companies
Ensure all paperwork for shipped/received items are filed correctly in accordance with company standards
Communicate on a daily basis with internal personnel such as Sales, Account Managers, production supervisors, manager, purchasing, material control and accounting
Perform customer service duties as necessary, maintaining good relationships with shipping
Keep accurate records of shipments and contact the shipper directly if any discrepancies are found or if the shipment was damaged in any way
To assist where necessary to maintain inventory, including verifying the count of items being shipped and received are accurate; to assist in annual inventory as part of duties within department
Any discrepancies are to be reported to the appropriate Harbor team member immediately
Load and unload trucks as needed
Monitor truck schedule periodically each day to ensure we are aware of what is being delivered
Other duties may be assigned at any time
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with 2 plus years of directly related experience
Must be able to operate a forklift
Must possess a working knowledge of the manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills; highly professional demeanor; computer knowledge preferred
Good math skills and ability to read to at least high school level required
