Name: Summer Nature program: Rock and Roll
Date: June 14, 2023
Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM EDT
Event Description:
Join us for a few free & fun nature outings at Old City Park this summer. Intern, Jalie Shemanski, will be sharing three of her favorite nature activities. These activities are geared toward the early childhood ages (3-6ish years young), but families of all ages are welcome! The programs encourage families to explore, learn, and discover together. All the materials the kids need will be on hand, but they are welcome to bring their own if they have any. No reservations are required. For questions call the district office at 231-582-6193 or email: charlevoixcd.intern@macd.org Earth is a very rocky planet, leading to rocks from different places such as mountains, volcanoes, weather, and erosion. Over time rocks are carried to new places through rivers, oceans, and wind and gradually change shape and form as they break and wear down. Join us to read the book “What Can You Do With a Rock” before we explore Old City Park and embark on a scavenger hunt to find different types of rocks. If time permits, we will paint a few of our different rocks!
